Amanda has 20 years’ experience in the hydrogen industry, having previously founded fuel cell company ACAL Energy and delivered various consultancy projects for a range of companies active in the UK’s hydrogen industry. She founded ULEMCo in 2014 to commercialise globally unique UK capability that enables specialist vehicles to use hydrogen at scale, now, through dual fuel and with zero carbon emissions using fuel cell or 100% hydrogen combustion. From LGV to HGV, utility vehicles like refuse trucks, sweepers, and gritters to non-road machinery and even emergency vehicles like Fire Engines and Ambulances, the company offers a fleetwide conversion service that applies proven technology to upgrade, upcycle and repower engines and equipment based on saving direct and embedded carbon emissions, affordably, and line with Net Zero ambitions. She is also currently a Chair of UKHEA, and an active participant in a number of industry advisory groups on the role of hydrogen for decarbonisation and delivering the UK’s net zero target.
